The Architecture of Ambition: Charting the 20-Week Foundation
Defining the Scope
Since my last post, the vision for Pratt Attack Studios has shifted from high-level concepts into a concrete engineering roadmap. The “first attack” isn’t just about code—it’s about disciplined planning and sustainable development.
Today, I’ve locked in the core parameters for our debut title, Echobound.
The “Dual-World” Pillar
The heart of Echobound lies in the Sinking mechanic. We are building a world of “Mirror Realities,” where players must navigate the friction between a neon-drenched Cyberpunk hellscape and its mystical Fantasy echo.
To ensure this feels like a premium, high-polish experience, I’ve decided on a focused 15–25 hour completion time. For a solo developer, “density over distance” is the strategy. By limiting the scope to Four Major Biomes—ranging from the rain-slicked Slums to a frost-shrouded Industrial Harbor—we can achieve the high-fidelity HD-2D polish that the JRPG genre demands without the risk of scope creep.
Engineering the Design Bible
As a Software Engineer, I know that a project is won or lost in pre-production. I am committing to a 20-week “Phase 0” starting this April.
This isn’t just brainstorming; it is technical specification. Before I move a single pixel in Godot, we are building:
- The Node Manifest: A detailed map of all 30 world locations (Towns, Paths, and Dungeons) across both realities.
- The Math of War: Full stat scaling, progression curves, and AI archetypes for our 80+ mirrored enemies.
- The GDExtension Spec: Architecting the C++ logic required to handle real-time world shifting and state synchronization.
The Digital Workshop
I have officially initialized the studio’s internal Discord Operating System. By utilizing a hybrid of text streams for R&D and forum channels for the Design Bible, I’ve created a searchable, scalable “second brain” for the studio. This infrastructure will keep production organized as I transition from the woods of Maine to the tech hubs of Tampere.
What’s Next?
The “incubation” phase continues. While I finish my academic requirements and prepare for my scouting trip to Finland, the story of the Static Trio—the Brother, the Sister, and the Automaton—continues to evolve in the background.
The roadmap is set. On April 27th, the official clock starts.
